The Lewis Foundation of Classical Ballet is grateful for contributions in support of one or more of the causes mentioned below.

Vocational training abroad
The average cost of studying in a full-time vocational school in the UK, including tuition and living expenses, is close to £58,000 (Rs. 47 lakhs) for 3 years. At this rate, it is only a dream for most Indians. In fact one of Yana's adult students has been selected by the Northern Ballet School, Manchester, UK and is awaiting funding to pursue full-time vocational training in classical ballet.

Local infrastructure
There is a dire need for well-equipped, professionally designed dance studios, built to international standards. The current spaces are for the most part sub-standard and unsafe. The right flooring, mirrors and ballet barres are essential prerequisites to avoid accidents and provide the ideal environment for serious professional training. A piano in the studio itself would also fulfil the requirement to conduct international grade/major examinations, another objective of The Lewis Foundation.

Sponsorship of performances and workshops
With the necessary funds for costumes, travel, food and accommodation, the Lewis Foundation could take ballet all over the country, especially to rural, under-developed areas, and SOS camps. This would greatly help in inculcating a strong awareness of classical ballet nationwide.

In order to conduct workshops nationwide for under-privileged children and other audiences, the Foundation would need to be self-sufficient in terms of backdrops, a portable stage and lighting - in addition to travel and other expenses.

Equipment for dancers
Dancers worldwide are in constant need of suitable dancewear and dance shoes. In India, the problem is exacerbated by the heat and humidity and poor condition of the studio floors. Proper dancewear and footwear is expensive and hence out of the reach of the average Indian, resulting in unsatisfactory compromises.
