Dance examinations in India ? Why do we have them?

The answer is very simple. We take dance very seriously just like how mathematics or physics are taken in all its seriousness. Examinations in dance are viewed as a highly challenging and rewarding experience, which will help the children to test their artistic abilities and strengthen their training. The examination is a stepping stone for students to improve on their artistry and technique, show their competence in the art form and prepare those who wish to pursue a career in dance.

The Foundation is proud to present 112 students for its first Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD ) dance examinations in Imperial Classical Ballet.  The examinations will be held from November 11-14, 2016 at our studio ‘Centre of Dance’ in Bangalore.  We are excited to welcome Ms.Vivienne Saxton, Chairman of the Imperial Ballet faculty (ISTD) as the external examiner to assess our students. The candidates will receive internationally recognised certificate  from ISTD on successful completion of  the examination.

Parents should remember that extra classes are offered to the student to help them prepare as per the examination standards. Days leading to the examination, make sure your child is well aware of the syllabus as well as the non dance details such as how to enter the dance hall, greet the examiner etc. Teachers cover these aspects  in these extra classes.
